TORNADO

Disaster comes anytime and anywhere. A kind of disaster is Tornado. Tornado is a violently rotating column of air that is in contact with both the surface of the earth and a cumulonimbus cloud or, in rare cases, the base of a cumulus cloud. Tornado comes from Spanish, means thunderstorm. In USA, Tornado is the most disaster that must be feared. Because when Tornado comes, Tornado can kills everything which is passed. There are causes how Tornado created.

First of all, Tornado forms when hot air and cold air are mixed, where air close to the ground flows upward to higher terrain. They form in the winter and early spring in the central and southern USA, and in the summer and northern states.

Then, the clouds grow larger and larger, it caused by the moisture in the warm air raises and condenses. The clouds form as like as a wall, which is straight into the sky. Finally, the tunderstorm may starts rotating. And the rotation is strong. There are some signs of Tornado; such as strong winds, whirling dust, sound of thunder, debris falling from the sky, and the sky may be a black color. Most Tornadoes have wind speeds less than 110 miles / hour (177 km / hour), are about 250 feet (76 m) across, and travel a few miles before dissipating.

The rotation of Tornado which is strong kills everything which is passed. For example in 2007, Tornado destroyed 95 percent of structures; such as building, building, bridge, the land of agricultural, and animal husbandry in Greensburg, Kansas. It was under 2 miles wide, the storm killed 11 people, left 800.000 cubic yards of debris, 120 injured, 1.500 dissapeared, makes loss more than $ 9.000.000. There is not only happened in Kansas, but also in some of regions in USA. Tornado happened in North Carolina April 14th to April 16th, 2011. Tornado started in Oklahoma. It damaged the city of Tushka which has 350 population. Tornado spread to Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, and the city of Raleigh in North Carolina. Tornado killed 44 people in North Carolina. And the biggest victim in 1925 in Missouri, Illinois dan Indiana. Tornado killed 747 people.

In conclusion, disaster can be attacked anytime and anywhere. But, we can predict it through the knowledge and technology that we have at this time. As long as we know the signs of disaster, we can keep our safety. And we must keep the environment. Because if you keep the environment, you will be safe and far away from disaster.
